ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS
1. Women’s individual all-around: China has won all 11 gold medals in this event at the Asian Games.
2. Republic of Korea can become the second NOC to finish on the podium in this event at successive Asian Games, after China.


BADMINTON
1. General: 
China has won 101 medals in badminton at the Asian Games. The only other NOCs to have achieved more than 50 medals in the sport are Indonesia (91) and Republic of Korea (66).
2. Indonesia has won more gold (26) and more total medals (91) in badminton than in any other sport at the Asian Games.
3. Indonesia is the only NOC to have won a badminton medal on all 14 previous occasions the sport has been contested at the Asian Games.
4. Women’s team
China has won this event a record 10 times.
5. China could win a sixth successive edition of this event at the Asian Games for the first time.
6. China, Japan and Republic of Korea have all won a record 11 total medals in this event at the Asian Games. Indonesia has 10 medals.

1. Women’s 50m backstroke
China has won all three gold medals in the women's 50m backstroke since the event was first held at the Asian Games in 2006. It has won five of the nine total medals (G3-S1-B1).
2. Men’s 50m freestyle: 
NING Zetao (CHN) won gold in 2014 in 21.95 seconds, the first time gold was won in the event in a sub-22 seconds time at the Asian Games. He also won the 100m gold, only the second swimmer to achieve the freestyle sprint double after SHEN Jianqiang (CHN) in 1990 in Beijing.
3. Women’s 400m individual medley
China (7) and Japan (3) have won all the gold medals in this event since it was first held at the Asian Games in 1978.
4. Men’s 200m breaststroke
Japan has won 13 gold medals and 29 in total in the 17 times this event has been staged at the Asian Games.
5. Kazakhstan’s Dmitriy BALANDIN won in 2014, and his time of 2:07.67 was more than two seconds quicker than the previous fastest time in this event in a final at the Asian Games, 2:09.97 by Kosuke KITAJIMA (JPN) in 2002.
6. Women’s 100m butterfly
China has won seven of the last eight gold medals in this event at the Asian Games. Japan’s Ayari AOYAMA (JPN) interrupted the sequence when she won gold in 1998.
7. Men’s 400m freestyle
Japan has won this event a record seven times at the Asian Games. Its last gold medal was won by Shunichi FUJITA (JPN) in 2002.
8. Women’s 4x200m freestyle relay
China has won all five gold medals on each of the five occasions this event has been held at the Asian Games, from 1998 to 2014. Japan has collected all five silver medals.


TAEKWONDO
1. Men’s heavyweight +80kg
Republic of Korea has won the men’s heavyweight event on all seven previous occasions it has been held at the Asian Games.
2. Women’s featherweight -57kg
Republic of Korea has won the last four gold medals in the women’s featherweight event at the Asian Games.


POLO AIR
1. General: 
The last 12 men’s and women’s water polo titles at the Asian Games have been won by either China (7) or Kazakhstan (5).
2. The last time a water polo gold medal at the Asian Games was won by an NOC other than China or Kazakhstan was in 1974, when Iran won the men’s tournament.
3. Women’s team
China has won each of its 12 matches (including 2018 matches) in women’s water polo at the Asian Games. 


ANGKAT BERAT
1. General
Indonesia has achieved the most weightlifting medals (G0-S8-B14) at the Asian Games without winning a single gold. It added a silver in the women’s 48kg event and a bronze in the men’s 56kg event on Monday at the 2018 Asian Games. 
2. Men’s 62kg
DPR Korea has finished on the podium at each of the last four editions of this event.
3. Women’s 53kg
China is the only NOC to have finished on the podium on all five occasions this event has been contested at the Asian Games.


GULAT
1. General: 
The men’s Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle 68kg and 76kg events are being held at the Asian Games for the first time.
2. Men’s Greco-Roman 60kg
Republic of Korea and Japan have won this event a record three times.


WUSHU
1. General
The men’s daoshu and gunshu all-round event will be held for the first time at the Asian Games.
2. Women’s jianshu and qiangshu all-round
Six different NOCs have won the six medals awarded in this event.
